Comancheria is the name commonly given to the historical range of the Comanche Indian. Our hunting area consists of nearly 250,000 square miles and is roughly 600 miles deep by 400 miles wide. Bound on the north along an east to west line of the Arkansas River through southeastern Colorado and southwestern Kansas down through central Oklahoma south to the vicinity of San Antonio, Texas thence Southwest to the Mexico border back north along the Rio Grande River to intersect the Arkansas River again in Colorado.

First time travelers to this huge area have from the days of Coronado’s exploration to the more modern day visitor have described it as being a desolate, barren, dry, flat, windblown wasteland and uninhabitable. We call it “home.”

Comancheria is also home to the last stronghold of Bobwhite Quail, Whitetail Deer, Mule Deer, Pronghorn Antelope, North American Elk, the Lessor Prairie Chicken, two species of Wild Turkey. Thousands and thousands of migrating Waterfowl (Geese, Sandhill Crane and Ducks) traverses the sky during their north/south migration and will winter right each year.
